Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Have you ever wondered what the difference is between standard oil and synthetic oil? You probably know that synthetic oil doesn’t need to be changed as often, with the typical recommendation being 5,000 miles for synthetics and 3,500 for most standard oil changes.

This does come with a word of caution. Not having to change your oil and not having to check your oil are two different things. You would be surprised how many damaged tie rods and blown engines are the result of a simple low oil level. Some engines may consume more synthetic oils. As a rule of thumb, you should check your oil level when you fill up with gas. Especially if you are traveling or going long distances. And, if your oil looks dirty before you are due for your next oil change, go ahead and schedule one sooner.
